Kierkegaard and the Contortionist by Word Rummager. Amazin story on Yareah Magazine

He liked walking the crooked streets. He grew up with a steady diet of theology. His spare time was spent studying his own discord. Kierkegaard often dreamt, both when awake and asleep, of leaving behind his gloom. He wanted to wash away the melancholy like so much dust from the streets, but it was so palpable and comfortable, he viewed it as his true mistress. He would not leave her as she would not leave him.
“I see it all perfectly; there are two possible situations- one can either do this or that. My opinion and my friendly advice is this: do it or do not do it – you will regret both.”
Amidst the patched canvas tents, each wagon was a world unto itself, of scents and colors and textures, indicative of those who dwelled within. In one such wooden world, the contortionist stretched out on the old rug on the floor. He in turn lifted each leg and twisted his body from the middle, swiveling side to side, and then straightening out again. He liked being twisted up best, feeling something, anything, pulling him in another direction.

The meaning of colors

In my opinion the best color is red (especially crimson). Red is the most intense and emotive color because it’s the color of love and lovers. But it’s also the most important color. Do you remember the coat of the kings? They were always dark red (also for Napoleon or Catherina II of Russia). Furthermore, during centuries Popes have dressed in red too (now, they dress in white, a more discrete color for more discrete times) imitating the old Roman senators, their robes were the hallmark of a crimson trim.

And the worst? a Clue...

History of Madrid (Spain)

From the beginning Madrid was a crazy city. How about a city placed away from the sea, without a major river or harbor? Neither Paris nor London nor Rome nor New York nor Tokyo nor Vienna… The other cities of the world aren’t located in the middle of anywhere.
During centuries, Madrid was just a village founded by the Muslims. Yes, in those Middle Ages times, when Spain was split between two main areas of influence: Christian kingdoms in the North and Muslim territories in the South, the important town in the center of the Iberian Peninsula was Toledo, and Madrid was used as a little fortification to guard Toledo of a possible Christian invasion. You can still see the ruins of the Muslim wall near the current Royal Palace (the biggest Royal palace in the world… but uninhabited, as a part of our peculiarities).
